This is a detailed explanation of how Micro SEO works and what I have done in my professional experience to build micro SEO campaigns that have a very successful conversion rates.
What is Micro SEO?
Micro SEO, also known as Micro-niche SEO, is the search engine optimization of a website/webpage done to target micro niches such as a single product or a range of product and services being purchased or used by a very small group of individuals (such as “best 4 seater cars” or “maruti spresso review“.
The target of such micro-niche targeting is to identify, influence, and attract viewers belong to a very small class of buyers. These buyers often share a very high number of attributes which can be age, income, social status, education, region, or even profession. The high number of common features among them makes it easier to create campaigns that specifically target them,
The benefit of micro-niche targeting is that a well designed campaign can easily convert a very high number of buyers (often as high as 40%) as compared to traditional SEO which has a broad market targeting with much lower coversion rates (around 1%).
Significance of Micro SEO
I have designed micro-seo funnels in the past and saw that although the number of visitors on such websites or pages is lower, the average interaction rate is much higher than broader SEO.
This happens because in Micro SEO, the targeting is often done via long-tail keywords and the nature of search is very specific in nature, which then leads to proper addressing of user questions via tailored answers and results in a higher CTR.
Further, since the article addresses the user query in a very comprehensive way (at least our articles do), we tend to see higher conversions or sales.
Strategies Used in My Micro SEO Campaigns
Although, the Micro SEO campaign relies on website-based SEO to reach potential users, it uses a blend of several off page SEO and trend-based viral marketing strategies to deliver quick results.
Search Engine Optimization
I deploy somewhere between 40 to 100 SEO techniques to ensure that the website on which the content is being published becomes one stop destination for the user and fulfils all the questions in thier head including the ones they haven’t thought about.
Some common techniques are:
- Long-Tail Keyword Optimization
- Pillar Content with Satelitte Content, published in an Inverted Tree Format
- Frequently Asked Questions from People Also Ask, Quora, and Reddit
- Image Alt Text Optimization to target relevant keywords, in sync with title
- Optimized Headings in a Cascaded Manner
- URL Optimization, in sync with title
- Bullet Points for easier readability
- Google’s EEAT Guidelines, with preference to Experience (the first E in EEAT)
- Google’s Anti-Spam Guidelines
- Google’s Helpful Content Guidelines
- Google’s YMYL Guidelines
Off Page SEO
Off Page SEO takes center stage in this strategy after the complete information around the micro SEO niche.
For this, I tend to find pages and communities that are either centered around that product or similar ones. Here, two things are to be done:
- First, use the questions and information shared in these groups to solidify my own SEO pages around that product or service.
- Second, publish my articles as an answer to questions being asked in these groups.
If a campaign is around a viral topic, each post has the potential to generate somewhere around 5000 to 25,000 visitors in a single day.
Viral Marketing is a technique that I have developed to answer viral questions around burning topics on the internet. These topics are available on Google Trends for almost all micro-niches.
Whenever I design a viral campaigns, it is done in 2 stages.
- In the first stage, I answer questions around products or services that are already present in the internet. For example: Is Product A better than Product B?
- In the second stage, I create viral social media posts for topics which do not have people asking questions around them. This is usually done for newer products and services that are not well known or have faded from public discourse.

Successful Micro SEO Campaigns
I have designed several Micro SEO Campaigns, typically in finance and fintech but also in consumer retail such as for mobile phones, academic courses and cars.
These campaigns blend SEO best practices applied to micro niches as well as leverages off page SEO (social media) to create dialogue and awareness around the product through questions and user generated content.
Campaign 1: Godi Media
Result
Although the number of clicks are far lower than a normal campaign, this result successfully ranked a website on first page in a highly competitive keyword “godi media“.
